Hairdressers For A Cause!

                         Gossip,
                               Gossip,
                                      and More Gossip!
Hairdressers hear it all, and now they are telling it all.

Nothing entertains more, than to hear the array of stories told in the beauty salon chair.
Thirty years a hairdresser, now author, Robin Q Daumit claims she offered her ear more times than her talent. Stories of romance, love, and sex were among the many topics heard.

Bursting with stories to tell, she knew the time had come to step away from the chair and take on the hot seat of story telling. The collection of short stories in Confessions of a Hairdresser are all true and sure to make you laugh, cry, and encounter the unexpected.

These juicy stories were heard by only one hairdresser, but on the final page of her book she does something rare in the business of 'book writing', she prints an invitation to other hairdressers to join in on the exciting art of story telling. An enticement is posted to others in the beauty industry to submit a short story of their own to add to the collection of 'Confessions'. The possibilities of what readers will hear, are endless!

In response to the invitation, one reader, Sandra Grifo Montimurro, submits this comment:
"What a great way to keep it going and involve others to share their stories - It's so vital and important to show and tell our stories because that is what weaves us together in community! - I LOVE YOUR CONCEPT!!"

But Weaving Communities Together Doesn't Stop There...

2% of all profit from Confessions of a Hairdresser sales are donated to Education For Life (EFL), a Charity- Foundation from Intercoiffure Mondial (The World's Elite Hairdressers - Paris, Tokyo, London, Rome, New York, Berlin). The goal of EFL is to build and support trade schools in the beauty industry for underprivileged youth who have only known a life of poverty on the streets. Currently 4 are flourishing in Brazil, 1 in Bosnia, and 1 in Bolivia. A scholarship program right here in America is also  part of the 'Teach them to Fish' concept for youth who have only known life on the streets.

"Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime"

The beauty industry is a lucrative, satisfying, and exciting way to support a personal life style, and has become the largest known network of people continuously in direct contact with the public, therefore providing a voice that weaves throughout any given community.

Hairdressers, Manicurists, Estheticians, Massage Therapists:

Who knows, maybe a wise television producer will realize that we have created a fabulous storyboard for a television series!!

Give A Copy To Your Hairdresser...
after you have read yours, and enjoy the fulfillment of knowing you have made your contribution to getting underprivileged youth off the streets, and made a permanent friend with your hairdresser. (Imagine how much faster you will secure your appointments!)

But be careful what stories you tell your hairdresser. It might end up in print ;)
