Moroccan Oil: Liquid Gold of the Desert

So, what is all the hoopla about this new miracle hair and skin oil from Morocco? Maybe the hoopla is about one million years old!

Argan oil from the pit of a fruit tree in Morocco, has gained new awareness in the western world, as a cosmeceutical, medicinal, and nutritional substance that has been used by the Indigenous people of Morocco since ancient times.

It has the highest properties of vitamin E known, in comparison to all other vitamin E contributors. It is rich in carotenes, has 80% unsaturated fatty acids, and is more resistant to oxidation than olive oil.

So, what is it doing to make skin and hair so beautiful? Nourishing them: simply that!

The Moroccan women of desert climates have embellished their skin and hair with the use of this oil in ways that western women are anxious to get their hands on. Since the arid climate of the desert is prone to dehydration of the skin, causing early signs of aging, and the hot dry air causes breakage to brittle frizzy hair, these beautiful desert women discovered the secrets in the pit of the Argan fruit, thousands of years ago to remedy these problems.

Shampoos and soaps that incorporate the Moroccan oil bring about lather, rich in lipid and amino acids. Since hair is made up of amino acids, and skin derives its moisture from lipids, products made with the Argan oil are perfect cleansers to replace moisture and nutrition while cleansing.

Conditioners and treatment masques formulated to infuse hydration and strength: do just that. The few companies that are producing hair conditioners, leave-in treatments, and vitamin paks with the vitamin rich Argan oil knew that clients would love the way their hair color lasted longer without fading, permed hair was strengthened both before receiving a perm and after, and delicate hair would be less likely to experience daily breakage.

The pure Argan oil is also available to massage into hair or skin, leaving it lustrous without apparent oil visibility. Long straight hair absorbs the nutrients after it has been dried and styled giving shine, while short curly hair drinks in the moisture of the oil, eliminating its dry frizzy appearance. Dry flaky scalp that emits dandruff and skin that is chapped and rough will benefit from the use of Argan oil even faster than hair.

Drying time for all hair types is reduced by penetrating the hydration properties into thirsty hair, therefore quenching hair that usually holds onto water for its drink.

The supportive properties of this ancient tree found in few places of the world deserves recognition for it's contribution to our beauty, but the greatest contribution the producers of this oil would like for you to recognize: is to them. They are all women.

The Argan oil cultivated in the organic forest of Morocco is a 'women only' business that is providing an income to educate their children and care for their communities. They bring beauty and nourishment to your skin and hair, while you contribute sustenance to their lives. A great exchange all the way around!
